Experienced Representation For Unions And Union Members
The attorneys at Raff & Becker, LLP represent unions and their members across the public and private sectors, including hospital workers, teachers, restaurant workers and public employees in government and civil service.
There are several steps involved in the grievance process, sometimes resulting in arbitration. Our firm represents union members who file grievances against their employers for violations of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the union and the employer.
Some unions allow their members to have their own lawyers represent them, while others do not. Where permitted, we can represent you in all stages of the process, including arbitration and administrative hearings. If your union does not allow private representation, we can still offer insight on how to best use your union rights, gather the necessary evidence and approach the union representatives who are handling your case.
Our lawyers can also provide guidance on your individual rights as a union member in internal disputes. We work diligently to protect our clients’ rights under the Landrum-Griffin Act, which protects the rights of individual union members against impermissible internal labor union conduct or corruption.
In addition, we have extensive experience representing unions themselves in collective bargaining or arbitration.
